For Kids: Ragi Flour

Quantity : 200 gm

Ingredients:

  1. Ragi :  1 cup
  2. Moong Dal (Moger) : 1/2 cup
  3. Rice : 1/2 cup
  4. Wheat : 1/2 cup
  5. Tuar Dal : 1/2 cup
  6. Jeera : 1 tbsp
  7. Black Pepper : 4
  8. Methi dana : 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Wash dals, ragi, wheat, rice and methidana.
  2. While washing ragi be careful, try to mesh it, some white colour thing(like vapour) will come in the water, that is waste for us we have to through that.
  3. Spread all the washed things on a cotton cloth and keep it in sunlight until it dries.
  4. It can take 2 days also.
  5. It should be properly dry.
  6. Now roast all the things one by one and then mix them.
  7. Ragi we have to roast only for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Rice, we have to roast until it became little brown.
  9. Wheat, roast it until it pops back.
  10. Dals, roast them until the fragrance comes.
  11. Roast cumin seeds, black pepper and methi dana together.
  12. Now mix all in a bowl.Mix it properly.
  13. Make smooth powder of it using grinder.
  14. Take a cotton cloth and strain the powder with that.
  15. We can store it in a airtight container.
  16. It is same as cerelac baby food.
  17. When you want to give it to your baby,boil 1/2 cup water in a pan.
  18. Add 1 tsp ragi powder(the one which we made above), a pinch of salt, and 1/4 tsp ghee or less then that.
  19. Stir it continuously.
  20. Once its done, you can give it to baby.
  21. While feeding ragi your baby, always keep little luke warm water in a separate bowl, to make the better consistency of cooked ragi.

Note:

  1. Always use Sona Masoori rice for kids.
  2. If you want to make this sweet, add little bit of Sugar/Jaggery while cooking instead of salt.
  3. It can be given to 6 months baby, start with 1 tsp.
