Carrot Halwa

Ingredients:

  1. Carrot Grated : 1 1/2 kg
  2. Ghee: 5 tbsp
  3. Sugar: 6 tbsp
  4. Milk: 750 ml
  5. Saffron/Kesar: 7-8
  6. Cardamom/Elaichi Powder: 1/4 tsp

Method:

  1. Boil the milk in a big vessel like in a capacity of 3 lt.
  2. Add Carrot in that and start stirring it.
  3. When water/ milk evaporates completely add ghee.Stir it continuously.
  4. After 10-15 minutes add sugar.
  5. Stir it continuously.
  6. Add kesar and eliachi Powder.
  7. Serve hot.

Note:

  1. If you like dry fruits you can add :
  • Cashew nuts: Cut Cashew Nuts in small pieces and garnish halwa with it.
  • Almonds:Soak almond in water for whole night or soak almonds in warm water for 3-4 hrs and then peal off the skin and cut it into thin strips.
  • Rasins:Soak raisins in warm water for 2-3 hrs.Dont add raisins in whole halwa.Garnish it individually.As Raisin property is a little sour so It will make whole halwa a little sour in taste.
2.Dont add any colour, if you want to add you can increase quantity of kesar.
