Ingredients:
- Moong Dal : 2 tbsp
- Masoor Dal : 1 tbsp
- Ghee : 2 tbsp
- Salt : to taste
- Turmeric Powder : 1/4 tsp
- Red chili Powder : 1/2 tsp
- Jaggery : 1 tsp
- Garlic : 6 cloves
- Methi Leaves chopped : 1 big bowl
- Hing : a pinch
Method:
- Soak the dals for half an hour.
- Wash it properly.
- Add turmeric powder,salt and boil it.
- Mesh it properly.Add half cup of water, red chili powder and jaggery into it and boil it.
- Heat ghee in a pan.Add hing into it.
- Add garlic cloves into it.Saute it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add methi leaves and saute it for 15 minutes on low flame without covering it.
- Add meshed dal into it.Mix it well and saute it for 5 minutes.
- Serve it hot with paranthas or rice.
Note:
Arhar dal can be used instead of moong and masoor dal.
Do not remove jaggery from the ingredients, as it adds a full bodied sweetness to methi’s slight bitterness.
