Ingredients:
- Idly Rice: 1 cup
- Urad Moger: 1/4 cup
- Poha: 1 tbsp
- Methi Dana: 1 tsp
- Salt: to taste
Method:
- Dal, Rice,poha and methi dana in water for alomost 6-7 hours separately.
- Wash it properly.
- Now make a paste of it and mix all together.
- Add salt in it while grinding.
- Cover it and keep it for fermentation(for 10 -12 hours).
- Now mix it properly.
- Take the idly maker.
- Preheat it and apply little bit of oil in it and put the batter.
- Keep it for 10 minutes.
- You can cook it on any flame like low medium / high.
- Serve it with Sambhar and Chutny.
Note:
If you want to have it in Sunday Morning Soak the ingredients in Saturday Morning.
Proper fermentation is required for Idly.
If you are making it in winters, you need 4-5 hrs extra for fermentation.
Instead of poha, you can add cooked rice also while grinding.
Always prefer Idly rice but if you don’t have, can use any.
If you have extra batter and you are getting bored with the Sambhar and Chutny , you can make Fry Idly or Masala Idly.
You can make Uttapam also with the same batter.
Just add a little bit of water to Make Dosa.
